Paycheck to Paycheck

by Doug Midgley

I can do it on the 15th

If it's before then, I can't go

That's just my situation

Don't make me proud to let you know

That I live paycheck to paycheck

I live paycheck to paycheck

I live paycheck to paycheck

I live paycheck to paycheck

The rent, the phone, the garbage

The water and the gas

All add me up to crazy

And my cash flow's gonna crash

And the new car I owe on

The battery's dead

"The insurance ran out

But drive careful," they said

And that's the day the accident happened

I can do it if it's Thursday

If it's before then I can't go

No, I don't bowl on Wednesdays

It's 'cause I'm broke if you must know

'Cause I live paycheck to paycheck

I live paycheck to paycheck

I live paycheck to paycheck

I live paycheck to paycheck

The Visa and the MasterCard

Could make a living on my debt

But first the rent and electric

I can't pay that plastic yet

And if I break my arm or leg

And they put it in a cast

Then it's the rent, the phone, and doctor's bills

And the plastic waits 'til last

'Cause I live paycheck to paycheck

I live paycheck to paycheck

I live paycheck to paycheck

I live paycheck to paycheck
