Beer

by Doug Midgley, Bill Metcalf, John Ashcraft

I like you much as I love beer

I ain't never said that to no woman before

No girl but you do I like that much, dear

You both lay me out on the floor

I like country music and I like baseball

I like when Independence Day is near

I like when you refuse it, I like when you abuse it

I like you as much as I love beer

Now Lone Star and me've been good friends for sometime

We met when I was just thirteen

And ever since that day I've had beer on my mind

And chronic oxidation in my spleen

I like you much as I love beer

I ain't never said that to no woman before

No girl but you do I like that much, dear

You both keep my crawling back for more

You both lay me out on the floor

Well, I might be late for dinner

And hell, I'm always late for work

I don't always make it all the way to bed

And I swear I don't remember

And I'm feeling like a jerk

But this is what she told me that I said

I like you much as I love beer

I ain't never said that to no woman before

No girl but you do I like that much, dear

You both keep me crawling back for more

You both lay me out on the floor

You both keep me running to the store
